Hibiscus Detox Tea

HibiscusTeaHibiscusTeaMany of you have tired my Magical De-bloat Potion and a whole lot of you hated the taste but loved the results.  I’ve got a new detox tea that is just as effective but taste 100% better.  Detox teas have become very popular when it comes to cleansing and losing weight.  I saw a few detox teas selling for $8.00 for a small bottle at Whole Foods.  While its nice to have the convince of something already made for you, you can make one at home in less then 10 minutes, and it costs less then $2.00 to make.

  • 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers(or 8 hibiscus tea bags)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cinnamon stick, or 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8-1/4 tsp. cayenne
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp. stevia
  • juice from one lemon or lime
  • 48 ounces spring water

  1. Simmer hibiscus flowers with 2 cups water over medium high heat for about 7 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and strain the flowers from the water, save the water which you will use as your concentrate, KEEP the hibiscus flowers, you can use them about 3 more times to make this tea.
  3. Pour concentrate into a large pitcher and add cinnamon, cayenne and stevia to the concentrate stir until the spices have dissolved.
  4. Add 48 ounces of water, and juice from the lemon or lime.  Stir well to combine.  Serve at room temp or chilled.
  5. This can be stored for up to 7-10 days in your fridge.  When I am drinking this as a detox tea to get rid of bloat, I’ll drink 4-6 8 ounce glasses a day.
