My journey to become a health coach begins with my own personal journey and struggles with health. When I was 18 years old I suffered from extreme low back pain due to an abnormal curve in my spine. I was put on medications to mask the pain and became very sick my freshman year of college, I had to come home and miss some school, I was even in the emergency room on New Year’s Eve. I started to look at my lifestyle and chose to study physical education in hopes to learn more about the body and help educate other people. I stopped taking any medications and focused on yoga and physical activity to strengthen my body and to be more comfortable in my skin. After working a few years in public school systems I become inspired and motivated to help people learn how to eat healthy, and teach them how to live an active and healthy lifestyle.
It is my goal to help make eating clean easy, fun and most importantly delicious! I will work to guide you to make small and easy changes that can have a big impact on your health. I lived a life that was very toxic and left me feeling sick, bloated, tired, and moody. I have learned that it is not normal to feel this way and it is possible to change it. It is my passion to help you see that it is possible to have more energy, and live a beautiful, inspired and exciting life!
I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.
My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
